Northwest Suburban Joint Action

Water Agency System (JAWA):

Water is supplied from Lake Michigan and

treated by the City of Chicago. Water is then

delivered to the Village via the JAWA

system at four locations.

Capacity - 15,000 GPM

Storage - 10.0 million gallons

Hardness - 8 gr. or 142 mg/L

The municipal sanitary sewer system in Cook County is transported to the

Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago for treatment. The

Village's sanitary sewer system in DuPage County is transported to the Village

of Bensenville for treatment.

Residential scavenger service is franchised to Waste Management (private).
