PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given that in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 8-2:D of the Zoning Ordinance of the Village of Elk Grove Village, the Board of Appeals of the Village will conduct a public hearing at the hour of 7:00 p.m. on July 27, 2017 at the Charles J. Zettek Municipal Building, 901 Wellington Avenue, Elk Grove Village, Illinois, to consider the petition of William E. Schuh, on behalf of Maman Corporation (Owner of Record) for variations from the provisions of the Elk Grove Village Zoning Ordinance No. 2410 as it pertains to permitted locations of structures and canopies in the industrial zoning districts. 

Section 3-7: D (1) prohibits principal structures from being located within any required front yard area.  The petitioner is seeking a variation to construct three (3) architectural enhancement elements which will project approximately two (2’) feet into the front twenty five (25’) foot setback along the north face of the building

Additionally, Section 3-7 D: (5) requires that every part of a required yard shall be open to the sky, unobstructed, except for the ordinary projection of sills, belt courses, cornices and ornamental features projecting not more than thirty six inches (36”) in the I-1 and I-2 districts.  The petitioner is seeking a variation to construct a six foot six inch (6’-6”) canopy at the north elevation of the building.  The proposed canopy will extend three feet six inches (3’-6”) beyond the permitted thirty six inch (36”) encroachment into the front yard area.
